About the Role
Join our dedicated team at Brothers of Mercy, where you’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-kept environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. As a Painter, you’ll perform painting, patching, and wall-covering tasks throughout the facility to ensure a high-quality and comfortable atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Perform painting, patching, and wall covering for walls, ceilings, woodwork, furniture, and other surfaces
- Prepare surfaces by washing, sanding, priming, and filling cracks/holes as needed to ensure proper finish and adhesion
- Maintain all painting-related equipment and supplies to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation
- Assist in coordinating painting projects and completing preventative maintenance assignments
- Keep all work/storage areas clean, orderly, and hazard-free
- Follow all safety standards, using appropriate protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks
- Collaborate with the Director of Plant Operations and other team members to complete daily and project-based work assignments
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in painting, wall covering, and finishing techniques required
- Knowledge of painting tools, equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to bend, lift, stand, and move intermittently throughout the day
