About the Role

Gigs is seeking a visionary leader to define its market category and establish its position within it. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role will shape Gigs' external narrative, including its messaging, tone, and market presence. The primary focus is to develop and implement a compelling category definition and positioning strategy that resonates with customers, press, investors, and partners, ensuring Gigs becomes the recognized leader in its space.

Responsibilities

  • Define the category by developing language that transcends "embedded connectivity" as the business expands.
  • Own the positioning, terminology, and rationale for the category's existence, driving adoption among customers, press, analysts, and partners.
  • Position Gigs within the defined category, ensuring the company's narrative reinforces the category's story at every touchpoint.
  • Elevate founders' voices by ghostwriting and co-creating thought leadership content, including essays, keynotes, podcasts, social media, and interviews.
  • Manage the external calendar, including conferences, stages, podcasts, newsletters, and press opportunities, determining which engagements are most valuable.
  • Adapt the brand narrative for different markets across the US, Europe, and Asia, identifying what resonates and where adjustments are needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design team to maintain brand consistency across all formats, including website, presentations, stage, social media, and events.
  • Ensure coherence across internal teams such as Growth Marketing, Product, and Partner Marketing, leveraging partner channels for narrative distribution.
  • Direct the broader marketing mix, including events, AI-driven initiatives, and internal communications, setting briefs and evaluating performance.
  • Utilize AI tools daily to enhance speed, creativity, and decision-making in shaping Gigs' representation and discovery across LLMs and AI-driven channels.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in creating a market category and making a company legible before its category has a name.
  • Experience in positioning a company within a category, understanding the distinction between defining a space and winning it.
  • Direct experience working with founders, including ghostwriting or developing their public voice.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, likely with a content strategy background.
  • Experience building effective content and distribution engines that measurably grow brand awareness.
  • Experience adapting brand narratives for different regions and understanding when to translate versus rebuild.
  • Ability to direct the full marketing mix (content, social, events, comms, design), setting briefs and evaluating work.
  • Comfort with data is a plus, but the role prioritizes voice and category instinct.
  • Daily use of AI tools to improve speed, creativity, and decision-making.
  • Experience in a high-growth tech startup or agency environment.
