About the Role
GFL Environmental is seeking skilled AZ Line Haul Drivers to join our Solid Waste line of business, offering one-on-one training with a driver coach and two weeks of paid, industry-specific training in Ayr, ON.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily runs to Michigan.
- Transport solid waste from transfer stations to various landfills.
- Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical and safety issues.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, equipment damage, and property damage.
- Document and log driving/break periods and kilometers on Daily Trip Reports and E-logs.
- Retain copies of fuel, border toll receipts, and pick-up/delivery tickets for daily paperwork.
- Comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation of vehicles, carriage of goods, Hours of Service, occupational health and safety, customs and immigration, and weights and dimensions.
Requirements
- Valid AZ License.
- 3+ years of related AZ driving experience.
- Must be able to cross the US border in a CMV daily.
- Ability to provide a clean Driver’s Abstract, CVOR Abstract, criminal check, and DOT regulated Drug testing.
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
Skills
- Waste Hauling experience (priority).
- Heavy hauling experience (asset).
- Top-notch backing skills.
- Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Great attitude and work ethic.
- High level of personal integrity.
- Dedicated and strong work ethic.
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
