About the Role
Weston & Sampson is seeking a geologist/hydrogeologist with 2 - 5+ years of experience to join the Water Discipline in our Suffern, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hydrogeologic/geologic investigations.
- Supervise pumping tests.
- Perform water-quality sampling.
- Conduct streamflow gaging.
- Generate GIS maps/graphics.
- Oversee monitoring and production well drilling.
- Perform soil sampling and logging during well installation.
- Compile and interpret data.
- Write permits and reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology or water resources related field (M.S. preferred).
- 2 to 5+ years of experience.
- A positive attitude and ability to work in a team setting.
- Enthusiasm for completing field work at a variety of site settings.
- Proficiency in preparing GIS figures, GIS data evaluation, data entry and management using Microsoft Suite.
- Experience with Grapher, Surfer and Aqtesolv programs is a plus.
- Strong GIS skills are a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Some travel will be required to conduct field work.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Ability to independently complete field tasks with limited instruction.
