About the Role

Built is seeking a Staff Product Manager for its Platform team. This role will own the foundations of Built's AI-powered platform, including shared components, core technical services, and the API ecosystem. The Platform team ensures service reliability, scalability, and developer productivity, enabling Built's applications to scale and evolve rapidly. The Staff PM will define OKRs, develop roadmaps, and collaborate with engineering and application teams to drive product strategy and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Own definition, execution, and delivery for your product area, writing high-quality PRDs, grooming backlogs, and planning sprints.
  • Collaborate deeply with application teams to understand their needs and translate them into a prioritized platform roadmap.
  • Partner with the Engineering Director for Platform to understand requirements around scale, reliability, and developer productivity, and sequence investments.
  • Work tirelessly to understand customers deeply (lenders, portfolio managers, owners, developers, and contractors) to identify problems and invent solutions.
  • Define success metrics and OKRs for the Platform team and prioritize the roadmap ruthlessly.
  • Drive zero-to-one product efforts from initial customer discovery through design, delivery, and iteration.
  • Present roadmaps, delivery plans, and product demos in internal and customer-facing forums.
  • Partner with GTM teams on go-to-market strategy and ensure strong adoption of launched capabilities.
  • Provide feedback on engineering designs and champion customer needs while driving implementation-level trade-offs.
  • Bring best practices that enhance collaboration between Platform and Application teams, improve decision-making velocity, and raise the PM team's overall quality bar.
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, quality, and speed of work.
  • Use AI to support drafting, analysis, summarization, and problem-solving.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort through automation and AI.
  • Apply AI to sharpen decision-making and strengthen strategic insights.
  • Share effective AI use cases and best practices with the team.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience in product management at growth-stage or scaling technology companies.
  • 4+ years managing platform teams and technical products as a Product Manager.
  • Strong technical aptitude - comfortable engaging with engineers on architectural trade-offs, understanding technical designs, and contributing meaningfully to feasibility discussions.
  • Proven expertise in zero-to-one product building, from initial customer discovery through design and delivery - with a track record of shipped products that created measurable value.
  • Experienced in running strong PDLC practices across complex, multi-team environments.
  • A strong cross-functional partner who influences through candor and builds trust through diligence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with experience presenting to senior leadership and, where relevant, enterprise customers.
  • Deep experience in B2B SaaS product development and enterprise sales cycles.
  • Construction finance or fintech domain experience is a meaningful differentiator.
  • Employees who are not based in the Nashville area are required to travel to our Nashville office at least twice per year for company gatherings.
  • Additional travel to Nashville may be required based on your role and business needs.
