About the Role

IGM Financial Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager or Director, Compensation to join its Human Resources department. This role will provide expert advice on compensation decisions, lead the development and design of sales compensation programs, and manage the implementation and administration of these plans. The position offers a hybrid work environment with opportunities for continuous learning and skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice to HR Business Partners on compensation decisions and impacts related to the Asset Management business.
  • Work with the compensation team on corporate compensation matters, including salary structure and the year-end annual compensation cycle.
  • Lead the development and design of IGM’s sales compensation programs supporting the Asset Management businesses.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to understand strategic priorities and financial impacts of compensation plans.
  • Provide innovative and effective compensation solutions that drive desired behaviors and achieve key business metrics.
  • Provide SME advice and counsel in managing compensation plans on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead a team of compensation professionals responsible for executing specialized incentive plans.
  • Work with key business stakeholders, including senior leaders, investment management, and sales teams, on compensation plan management, communication, reporting, and analysis.
  • Manage partnerships with stakeholders in the calculation process, including Compensation, Finance, and Sales Analytics teams, to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient commission management.
  • Manage partnerships with technology for the development and improvement of the Specialized Incentive Plan Tool, which calculates, reports, and forecasts incentives for the Investment Management business line.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of progressive/relevant business experience in employee compensation.
  • University degree in business administration or related disciplines; Compensation Professional Discipline is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and numeric skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation principles and concepts, including job evaluation, pay structure, variable pay, pay equity legislation, annual merit budgeting, and competitive pay analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with designing and implementing sales compensation programs.
  • Proactive leader with proven decision-making skills and the ability to manage expectations effectively to achieve multiple, competing priorities.
  • Proven experience working with business leaders and senior professionals.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under time pressure and work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of general Human Resources practices & policies, laws, and regulations as applicable to compensation.
