About the Role
This field-based role requires candidates to live within a reasonable distance of the primary city. The talent hired will be at a level commensurate with experience. The position involves executing brand strategy and tactics, managing sales performance and territory, building customer relationships, and solving customer needs to maximize sales performance while adhering to AbbVie's business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance.
- Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns to gain calls to action and close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease, product, and clinical/sales expertise.
- Share market intelligence with in-field teams, brand teams, and sales managers for alignment and to optimize brand strategy execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers.
- Identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business, or equivalent.
- Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills.
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools.
- Possesses strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach.
- Operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
- Meet safe driving requirements.
- Ability to travel adequately to cover territory.
- Ability to attend scheduled training events and sales meetings with overnight stays.
- Driving a personal auto, company car/truck, or powered material handling equipment.
- Satisfy all applicable healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations.
- Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials.
- HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and specific licenses.
