About the Role

The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing, configuring, and administering CDS Life Transitions server architecture and infrastructure. This includes configuring and supporting critical business applications, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in planning, design, and implementation for IT solutions in a variety of technologies.
  • Design and deploy new servers and applications, as well as enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
  • Collaborate with IT department, CDS staff, vendors, and other agencies to implement solutions.
  • Analyze complex business situations to recommend and implement technical solutions.
  • Maintain server and application security through vulnerability scans and regular patching.
  • Participate in server and security audits, system backup procedures, and recovery processes.
  • Provide professional, courteous, and timely support and service to colleagues and users.
  • Offer technical consultation, training, and support to other IT staff.
  • Regularly maintain technical and process documentation.
  • Work independently to maintain knowledge and skills and remain current with technologies.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be able to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to lead others in implementation efforts and technology-related projects.
  • Ability to mentor other staff in similar positions.
  • Self-starter who can learn and understand new technology quickly and independently.
  • Proven experience executing enterprise solutions in a fast-paced, technologically diverse environment.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Windows Active Directory, Group Policies.
  • Knowledge of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls) and equipment (routers, switches, WAPs, etc).
  • Experience with Endpoint Protection Software (Anti-virus, Anti-malware, HIPS, etc).
  • Experience with Windows Powershell, including ability to write and modify scripts for automating repetitive tasks.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation using Nessus or similar tools.
  • Experience working in an environment with PHI, PII or other sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.

Experience Level

  • Five or more years experience administering Active Directory, Windows, and VMWare.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MCSE, CCNA, or VCP preferred, but not necessary.
