About the Role
The Executive Planning Consultant (EPC) builds, maintains, and deepens relationships with executives and management leaders of Workplace benefit plan clients. This role leverages planning expertise and relationship management skills to co-create wealth planning solutions tailored to executive clients’ needs, serving as a primary financial planning resource for executives with up to $1 million in combined workplace and retail assets. The EPC partners with VP Executive Planning Consultants and is an integral part of a cross-company team.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with executives and management leaders of Workplace benefit plan clients.
- Co-create comprehensive wealth planning solutions tailored to executive clients’ needs.
- Serve as a primary financial planning resource for executives with up to $1 million in combined workplace and retail assets.
- Support executives with planning needs such as college planning, savings goals, and early retirement planning.
- Partner with VP Executive Planning Consultants within a wealth management team to support executives’ advanced planning needs.
- Act as an integral part of a cross-company team consisting of Managing Director(s), Benefits Planning Consultants, Benefits Relationship Managers, and other executive services associates.
- Deepen relationships and help engage new executives by understanding the financial planning process and the needs of highly compensated executives.
- Assist clients while successfully incorporating Fidelity’s planning, guidance and service technology, and the financial planning knowledge and complex regulatory obligations imposed by required licenses.
- Introduce executives to a range of investment strategies while identifying opportunities to consolidate additional assets.
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience with a passion for seeing others thrive.
- Effectively engage executives through personal interactions, reflecting interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.
- Incorporate the executive’s benefits and unique plan provisions into the planning process to deepen the relationship and grow the business.
- Meet the immediate and future needs of executives by providing and demonstrating solid financial planning skills and a deep understanding of Fidelity’s products, while supporting the executive with client-centered advice and guidance.
- Develop an understanding of a company’s corporate culture and executive needs to make them aware of how benefit changes could impact their financial well-being.
- Travel up to 25% as needed.
Requirements
- Series 7 and 66 licenses required.
- Insurance license required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Experience working with executives and employee benefit plans.
- Demonstrated ability to understand clients’ unique financial situations and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ability to thoughtfully introduce executives to range of investment strategies while identifying opportunities to consolidate additional assets.
- Coachable, collaborative, and curious attributes.
- Fidelity’s business is governed by various acts and regulations which may restrict hiring individuals with certain Criminal Histories.
