About the Role
Cape Breton University's Mi’kmaq Studies and Unama’ki College are seeking qualified L’nu sessional instructors to teach specific courses on campus, online, or in the community over the next two years. This is an opportunity for individuals interested in sharing their knowledge and experience with students and exploring a future teaching career.
Responsibilities
- Teach Mi’kmaw Language classes
- Teach Mi’kmaw History classes
- Teach Mi’kmaw Traditional Governance
- Teach other areas of Mi’kmaw knowledge and expertise
- Teach courses on campus
- Teach courses online
- Teach courses in the community
Requirements
- A graduate degree in a relevant discipline, or significant traditional, cultural, community-based, or professional knowledge if a Master's degree is not held.
- Experience teaching in First Nations communities.
- Relevant qualifications, experience, or demonstrated expertise in the subject area being taught.
- A cover letter describing the applicant's expertise.
- A complete resume.
- A list of at least three references.
