About the Role
WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Fuel and Ash Handler II to monitor and operate auxiliary equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. This role involves performing maintenance and minor repairs on ash handling, tipping floor, and other assigned auxiliary systems, including sweeping, shoveling, painting, and housekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Inspects and operates light mobile equipment such as forklift, skid steer, aerial platform, sweeper, and golf cart.
- Performs fueling activities for equipment operations.
- Handles material such as combined ash, residue, non-ferrous metals, and ferrous metals, including loading trucks for shipment.
- Supports facility outages through boiler cleaning, including APC equipment ducts, grate, ash extractors, conveyor cleanouts, and scaffold cleaning.
- Applies mechanical knowledge for routine tasks like opening vessels, placing and removing furnace access equipment, operating power tools, and performing minor repairs.
- Performs light maintenance including plumbing, masonry, pipe fitting, small engine maintenance, carpentry, and use of manual and power hand tools.
- Maintains and follows all Company environmental compliance, health, and safety requirements, policies, procedures, and rules.
- Completes all required Environmental Management System and Compliance Training.
- Maintains the work area in a clean, neat, and orderly condition.
- Shovels loose materials into machine hoppers or vehicles and containers.
- Supports plant housekeeping, painting, and preservation needs.
- Maintains a positive work environment by interacting professionally with colleagues, clients, vendors, and management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
- Mechanical abilities sufficient to perform equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and general preventative maintenance.
