About the Role
The New York Climate Exchange is seeking a developer or small development team to build and/or customize a functional digital platform for an online repository. This platform will enable users to submit, review, publish, browse, and analyze various file types, facilitating content discovery for a pilot project focused on climate tech knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a clean, functional front-end platform for browsing, searching, and filtering climate tech content.
- Architect a backend database with a structured submission schema.
- Integrate a submission portal with form fields, file support (including large files), IP acknowledgement, and automated reviewer routing.
- Implement a lightweight review routing workflow for administrators.
- Add roles and permissions based on user type and ensure platform privacy with secure login.
- Integrate search functionality (tagging tools or AI-assisted) to parse and browse content.
- Outline recommendations for future development and maintenance, including cost estimates.
Requirements
- Experience building lightweight data platforms and web apps.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues.
- Willingness to drive progress independently and iterate based on feedback.
- Ability to design and build for future growth and AI integration.
- Ability to make recommendations for a long-term technical roadmap.
- Must be able to work in the United States.
