About the Role

Functions in a project engineering technician capacity. Under general direction, supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables. Applies foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions. Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables. Provides technical guidance and may offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs.

Responsibilities

Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and BV policies and procedures.
Reviews project requirements and accurately determines the correct format and contents of the required deliverables.
Applies BV Quality Program to deliverables, demonstrating personal accuracy and supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts.
Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with project-specific codes and standards.
Applies basic engineering principles and established design practices in developing moderately complex design concepts and deliverables.
Exercises judgment and makes decisions regarding deliverables and input interpretation.
Handles difficult technical assignments within an area of expertise and provides technical guidance to other professionals.
Performs design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records.
Reviews the deliverables of others.
Defines work assignments and maintains schedules.
Programs control systems or participates in plant start-up activities.
Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development.
Supports field activities.
Focuses on the needs of internal clients while understanding external client interests and drivers.
Seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes.

Requirements

Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
