About the Role

Support the Toronto Star’s growth initiatives through email campaign management, including campaign execution, template refinement, and creation.

Responsibilities

  • Support email design through CSS and HTML, and troubleshoot template, content, and image coding.
  • Optimize existing and new templates for viewing across multiple platforms and devices, considering best practices for preview text, subject lines, personalization, mobile responsiveness, and dark-mode support to drive overall engagement.
  • Confirm all email components (links, personalization, images) are functioning and displaying as expected.
  • Stay on top of campaign management tasks, including collection of campaign assets and contact lists.
  • Execute day-to-day email campaigns, including list imports, set-up, segmentation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Run A/B tests to improve and optimize campaign performance based on changing business needs.
  • Manage the email calendar to monitor requests for deployments from various business units and head off any audience conflicts.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure strategic initiatives are reflected accurately and effectively.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years of email marketing or related experience.
  • Proficient HTML and CSS for email coding and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with an email marketing platform and deploying emails to targeted segments.
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer fluency in MS Office, Google Sheets, and Adobe Photoshop.
