About the Role

OBE is seeking a passionate and highly motivated VP, Account Services to lead and grow existing client relationships. This role is responsible for the health, retention, and expansion of client accounts, balancing team leadership with business management.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead the Account Team, setting the leadership tone and fostering a performance-based culture.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to teams on multiple projects across internal and external functional teams.
  • Mentor direct reports and cross-functional team members, providing candid, real-time feedback.
  • Ensure team members are properly evaluated, hired, and trained.
  • Implement all OBE administrative and operational policies.
  • Serve as a senior strategic advisor to top-tier clients, providing insightful analysis and innovative solutions.
  • Own executive-level client relationships, ensuring account health, client satisfaction, and retention.
  • Set strategic direction for client projects, focusing on deepening existing relationships through annual and ongoing account planning.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement to ensure timely and efficient interaction.
  • Anticipate obstacles, communicate with appropriate parties, and create timely solutions.
  • Drive and supervise client activations, ensuring professional planning, development, and execution.
  • Approve client MSAs and program SOWs, ensuring alignment with contract terms and client commitments.
  • Support account teams on all functional and tactical aspects of execution, including budgeting, timelines, KPIs, measurement, and reporting.
  • Empower others to lead conversations and share confidence authentically.
  • Recognize audience needs and address issues immediately and honestly.
  • Navigate conflict resolution with strong self-awareness and seek support when needed.
  • Guide teams through conflict resolution.
  • Identify training needs and growth opportunities for individuals and departments.
  • Collaborate with Leadership and the Executive team to identify strengths and development opportunities.
  • Drive organic growth within the existing account roster through upsell, cross-sell, and account expansion.
  • Demonstrate understanding of OBE’s products and services to sell into existing client work.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen and diversify client relationships.
  • Partner with the Chief Growth Officer and new business team on RFPs where existing client relationships can support efforts.
  • Network within client organizations and industries to strengthen relationships.
  • Manage account-level profitability, contribution margins, resource efficiencies, and utilization.
  • Oversee project budgets, including tracking, billing, and client approvals.
  • Approve budgets and contracts over threshold and lead high-level contract negotiations.
  • Identify and leverage new revenue opportunities within the existing account roster.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, promotions, and events within a marketing agency, preferably experiential marketing.
  • Minimum 7 years in Account / Client services experience.
  • Brand management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner both internally and with clients.
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative manner both internally and with clients.
  • Ability to lift to 25 pounds and stay on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (up to 4 days in office).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
