About the Role

We are seeking an Operations Manager to help build the future of MS NOW, aiming to make it the most modern live media organization globally while supporting its growth. This role requires a blend of understanding live news production, supporting teams, and innovating for the future.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a dedicated operational partner to MS NOW editorial, production, digital, and technical teams.
  • Work directly with journalists, producers, editors, control rooms, field teams, and leadership to understand and improve workflows.
  • Identify recurring pain points, outdated workflows, manual processes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate between editorial needs and technical teams.
  • Build strong relationships across editorial, production, engineering, product, facilities, and technology teams.
  • Develop documentation, playbooks, training, and onboarding materials for scalable workflows.
  • Help teams adopt new tools and ways of working, focusing on people and culture.
  • Create lightweight applications, dashboards, automations, and workflow tools for rapid idea testing.
  • Experiment with AI-enabled workflows across various media operations.
  • Support day-to-day operational needs, including live productions, breaking news, and digital video.
  • Modernize workflows across linear television, streaming, digital, social, and emerging platforms.
  • Test new technologies in production environments and gather user feedback.
  • Travel to various locations to understand workflows and support initiatives.
  • Assist wherever necessary to ensure tasks are completed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in newsroom operations, television production, digital media, production management, live events, product operations, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of live news and media organization operations.
  • Experience in fast-moving editorial, production, control room, digital, or field environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, simplify workflows, and implement practical solutions.
  • Hands-on interest in AI tools, including Codex or similar AI-assisted development platforms.
  • Comfort experimenting with new technology without complete prior knowledge.
  • Strong operational instincts and ability to discern helpful technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic conversations with hands-on execution.
  • Strong judgment under pressure and ability to manage multiple priorities during critical events.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally work nights or weekends.
