About the Role
Weeks Marine & Kiewit is seeking a safety manager to create, support, and audit their safety program, reinforcing the company's commitment to safety on marine infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage company environmental health and safety programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach.
- Compile, analyze, and interpret occupational illness and accident statistical data.
- Recommend process and product safety features to reduce employee exposure to hazards.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct hazards and ensure compliance.
- Monitor workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on correct behaviors.
- Develop environmental health and safety training materials.
- Develop a paperwork management system to track safety training records.
- Interpret safety regulations for the project.
- Coordinate and present safety training, including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout, and respiratory protection.
- Interface with OSHA officials/inspectors during site visits.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a safety program on projects of increasing complexity.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills.
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Able to interact professionally with all levels of management while managing a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely.
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others.
- Perform work safely and effectively.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.

- May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.
Skills
- CSP or CHST is Preferred
- OSHA 30
- CPR/First Aid, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and OSHA/MSHA instructor certifications are preferred.
