About the Role
Support technology development in the telecommunications field by designing, building, and evaluating prototype products, with a focus on fiber optic connectors and enclosures. This role involves utilizing engineering principles and engaging with cross-functional teams to solve problems and meet project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design new components and assemblies using 2D & 3D CAD.
- Prototype and evaluate new components and assemblies.
- Coordinate, plan, and lead experiments to analyze results using statistical tools.
- Engage within the project team and across project boundaries to achieve objectives.
- Share ideas and accept direction and feedback from team members and technical experts.
- Lead projects of limited scope.
- Manage priorities and timelines to achieve objectives within allotted time.
- Prepare oral and written reports summarizing test results and conclusions for technical audiences.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a BS or MS program in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Completed first and second-year engineering studies.
- Proficient in CAD Design Software.
- Demonstrate creativity in solutions, experimental design, and results analysis.
- Ability to work with hands to build prototype products and test systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information.
- Results-oriented.
- Computer literate in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Creo or Unigraphics NX CAD software
- Lathe, mill, and assorted hand tools
- PLM Software such as Windchill or eNovia
