About the Role

Keywords Studios is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Privacy Manager to join its Global Privacy & AI Governance team. This high-impact global role will lead the Privacy Operations function and drive key elements of the Global Privacy & AI Governance program across 70+ studios in 25+ countries. The role involves delivering data protection and responsible AI practices, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing junior team members. The Senior Privacy Manager will implement and manage privacy and AI governance operational workflows, provide strategic guidance on privacy and AI laws, and identify and mitigate business risk. This role is essential for maintaining high standards of data protection and AI use and offers remote work flexibility from the UK or EU.

Responsibilities

Take a leadership role in developing and implementing core elements of the Global Privacy & AI Governance Framework.
Deputise for the Global Head of Privacy & AI Governance as appropriate.
Directly line manage and mentor the Privacy Operations team, overseeing daily intake triage, operational SLAs, and workflow efficiency.
Manage Privacy by Design and AI in products, services and external tooling.
Lead the delivery of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), AI Impact Assessments and software intake reviews.
Lead efforts to embed Privacy by Design and ethical AI guardrails into service lines and internal workflows.
Deliver pragmatic, hands-on solutions for privacy and AI integration.
Identify the need for and execute Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs).
Make independent recommendations on complex privacy and operational AI matters.
Manage the end-to-end life cycle of privacy and AI risk.
Respond to day-to-day enquiries from the business and provide timely, risk-based advice.
Manage data subject requests and data incidents.
Lead activities to contain, investigate, remediate and mitigate incidents.
Monitor the global data protection and AI regulatory horizon.
Complete regulatory gap analyses on forthcoming data protection and AI regulations.
Respond to data protection-related consultations.
Collaborate with Legal, IT, AI Strategy, and Information Security teams to ensure alignment of privacy and AI practices.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives and leaders of business functions.
Drive privacy and AI initiatives and gain buy-in for necessary changes.
Lead privacy and AI awareness and education for employees at all levels.

Requirements

At least 7 years of experience in privacy management, demonstrating continued progression.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight and guidance.
Demonstrated ability and interest to mentor and lead junior team members.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a strong delivery focus, reaching risk-based decisions efficiently and effectively.
Extensive knowledge of GDPR and other relevant global privacy regulations.
Developing knowledge of the EU AI Act and other relevant global AI regulations.
Technical understanding of how AI systems / LLMs operate and key risks associated with these.
Experience liaising with C-Level stakeholders.
Experience working on cross-functional projects.
Outstanding subject matter expertise with the ability to provide hands-on support, advice, and practical recommendations for managing privacy.
Willingness to travel, if required.
Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex privacy and AI matters into simple insights and advice.
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify workflow improvements.
Adaptability and willingness to learn multiple sets of policies/processes quickly.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
