About the Role
The Engagement Manager II (EM II) is a delivery leadership position responsible for managing customer experience, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and achieving client satisfaction. This role quantifies business benefits, requires strong project management skills, and is measured by customer satisfaction, retention, financial targets, and billable utilization. Travel may be required several times per year.
Responsibilities
- Oversee engagements with varying delivery models to ensure objectives are met on schedule and within budget, while fulfilling internal compliance requirements.
- Provide strategic value to clients and engagements consistently.
- Build rapport and maintain relationships with client stakeholders to understand their long-term goals and align services.
- Regularly inform internal and external stakeholders about engagement progress, challenges, and results.
- Manage engagement financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring profitability.
- Ensure efficient resource utilization across engagements, optimizing team performance and outcomes.
- Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure engagement stability.
- Prepare and present detailed performance reports to senior management and clients.
- Lead larger engagement teams, mentor resources, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Focus on client satisfaction and retention by delivering high-quality services and promptly addressing issues.
- Identify opportunities and collaborate with sales partners for upselling and cross-selling to aid in organic business growth.
- Make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Develop and deliver multimode communications that convey a clear understanding of unique audience needs.
- Actively listen to understand customer needs and articulate solution options clearly.
- Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Take a consultative approach to propose solutions that benefit the customer and solve their business needs, acting as a trusted partner and advisor.
- Create a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.
- Host regular meetings with the team and encourage input from others.
- Work well with cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve common goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English language).
- Experience managing Red Hat OpenShift implementations, migrations, upgrades, or platform operations.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- People management skills.
- Experience in project management fundamentals or as an acting Scrum Master.
- Exposure to professional services agreements including the change management process.
- Exposure to IT Managed Services, project management classes, and other IT certifications.
- Demonstrated project risk analysis and mitigation skills.
