About the Role
Delivers comprehensive and accurate cost estimates that inform project planning, bidding, and execution, supporting organizational profitability and competitiveness. Applies in-depth analytical skills to evaluate project documents, market conditions, and historical data, ensuring estimates reflect current trends and risks. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and value engineering options that optimize project outcomes. Influences decision-making by presenting clear, data-driven recommendations to project leaders and stakeholders. Enhances estimating processes by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.
Responsibilities
- Prepares detailed and accurate project cost estimates for moderately complex projects, incorporating material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs from concept through final pricing.
- Extracts production data for planning, scope alignment, and integration of family of companies, i.e. SPW, Prefab, DBC, etc. to support project deliverables.
- Reviews project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Coordinates with Precon Coordinators, project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to assemble comprehensive bid packages, and provide clear instructions and clarifications to bidders.
- Analyzes market trends, vendor pricing, and historical data to inform estimate development and risk assessment.
- Contributes to value engineering efforts by analyzing cost impacts and proposing alternative materials, methods, or solutions to enhance project value.
- Supports estimate reviews and documentation by organizing assumptions, qualifications, and clarifications to promote transparency and alignment with project objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
- 4-6 years of experience in estimating, cost analysis, project controls, or a related field required.
