About the Role
Maintain the high voltage electrical distribution system (480-34.5KV) to ensure uninterrupted power supply, and install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain system components.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding system status, performance, and needs with supervisors, planners, and operations staff.
- Ensure all customer-communicated concerns are immediately communicated and appropriately responded to.
- Assist the Maintenance Planner in developing standard preventive maintenance routines to maximize equipment uptime and lifespan.
- Assist the Maintenance Planner in developing corrective maintenance job plans to ensure timely equipment repairs and maintain system redundancies.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner on all shutdown planning (routine & emergency) for maintenance activities, including customer notifications.
- Complete all planned maintenance routines for assigned locations, documenting actions in the RED-Rochester work order management system (MAXIMO®).
- Complete all assigned corrective maintenance actions, documenting actions in the RED-Rochester work order management system (MAXIMO®).
- Assist with plant overhaul, upgrade, or modernization activities within assigned locations.
- Supervise outside contractors working within assigned locations to ensure compliance with RED-Rochester safety policies and workmanship standards.
- Perform tests including transformer insulation resistance, transformer turns ratio, high-current injection, fuse continuity, protective relay testing, and cable testing.
- Work within the larger team structure for major emergencies or catastrophic failures.
- Perform equipment testing such as Transformer Insulation Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio, High-Current Injection, Fuse Continuity, Protective Relay Testing, Cable Testing, and Generator Performance Testing.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Work Place.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the current National Electrical Code.
- Must obtain required safety operator licenses (fork truck, man lift, scissor lift) within 12 months.
- Immediately obtain OSHA 10hr certification.
- Must obtain OSHA 30hr certification within 12 months.
- Must have an unencumbered valid NYS driver’s license.

Education Level
- High school diploma/GED
- Armed Forces training, Documented Electrical Apprenticeship Training or Equivalent field experience required.
- Applicable Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
Salary/Compensations
- $35 to $45 per hour
- Eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus program.
