About the Role
Join Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance, to assist with UK and European tax compliance and reporting. This role involves preparing tax returns, disclosures, and supporting tax projects within an entrepreneurial culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist UK and European entities with VAT and indirect tax return preparation.
- Prepare corporation tax returns.
- Maintain and enhance transfer pricing documentation.
- Prepare tax disclosures for statutory accounts, regulatory returns, and Group reporting.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors for tax information.
- Design and implement process improvements for efficiency and data quality.
- Maintain and document tax controls within the risk management framework.
- Respond to IPT queries.
- Produce payment-on-account estimates for HMRC and European tax authorities.
- Support the implementation of tax regulatory developments like BEPS Pillar Two.
- Support ad hoc tax projects, reporting requests, and business initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum three years' post-qualification experience.
- Experience within the insurance sector, including Lloyd’s syndicates, preferred.
- Working knowledge of UK and European tax requirements, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and Insurance Premium Tax (IPT).
- Experience liaising with external tax advisers.
- Experience improving and maintaining tax accounting processes and procedures.
