About the Role

Join our pension implementation team where you will be the technical bridge between complex pension laws and the software that executes them. You will be hands-on, configuring internal software to match the specific calculation rules of clients across North America. You'll spend your time translating dense financial rules into technical specs and partnering with QA teams to ensure every amount is calculated perfectly. This is a high-stakes role where you will act as the primary link between the client's needs and the project team's delivery, transitioning into a subject matter expert providing critical support once the system is live. You are responsible for ensuring the software does exactly what the pension plan promises, offering an opportunity to build versatility in Defined Benefit pension administration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of clients' Defined Benefit pension plan calculation rules
  • Act as the link between the client and the project team regarding pension plan calculations
  • Configure in-house software to suit the specifics of the client's pension plan
  • Write specifications according to client needs and requests for software developments
  • Ensure proper integration of the software with other client-implemented software
  • Participate in the development of the specific testing strategy for software configuration and new developments
  • Participate in the review of test scenarios with plan selection criteria
  • Provide support to the quality assurance team
  • Collaborate in software development by providing suggestions for improvement
  • Provide customer service to users post-implementation for effective software management

Requirements

  • University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or finance
  • 5+ years’ experience in Defined Benefit pension administration, consulting and/or implementation
  • Ability to understand and use current computer technologies
  • Good knowledge of Excel software
  • Recognized analytical and summarizing skills
  • Sense of organization
  • Flexibility in managing multiple projects
  • Good initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both as a team and independently
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet timelines
  • Available to travel occasionally (Canada, US)
  • Personnel Security Screening conducted through the Government of Canada may be required
