About the Role
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Ingestion squad, with solid TypeScript skills. This is a backend engineering role serving a data domain. You will build the services, connectors and orchestration that bring cardiac device data into our platform. These services sit on a clinically critical path: the reliability of what you build has a direct impact on patient monitoring, and everything runs in a regulated HealthTech environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the backend services of our ingestion platform (TypeScript, NestJS, Node.js)
- Build and evolve the connectors that integrate data from implanted and ambulatory cardiac devices into the platform
- Orchestrate processing with Temporal, and handle service-to-service communication (RabbitMQ)
- Design and expose the APIs consumed by the rest of the platform
- Optimise access to our PostgreSQL, MariaDB and MongoDB databases
- Own reliability in production: Grafana, GitLab CI, deployment on Kubernetes and AWS
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in backend development, including taking services to production and operating them over time: deployment, monitoring, alerting, incident management
- Strong backend engineering skills in at least one of: Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, Go or Scala
- Experience designing APIs and integrating data from external sources
- Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, and an interest in query optimisation
- Fluency in both English and French is required
- Curiosity and AI usage: Actively embrace working with AI productivity tools such as Claude to solve problems, sharpen code quality, and maximize efficiency.
