About the Role
Rocksteady Music School is the UK’s biggest employer of full-time, permanent musicians, teaching rock and pop band lessons to primary-aged children. We are a community of musicians and music-lovers on a mission to remove barriers to music education. As a Regional Band Leader, you will provide cover and catch-up lessons in Rocksteady schools, assess children's and schools' needs, deliver high-quality lessons, build positive relationships with schools, manage administrative duties, and support new Band Leaders.
Responsibilities
- Provide cover and catch-up lessons in Rocksteady schools throughout the year.
- Assess the needs of children and schools, and provide high-quality lessons in a wide variety of different situations.
- Create and maintain on-going positive relationships with schools requiring cover and catch-up lessons.
- Manage administrative duties outside of lessons.
- Support new Band Leaders in your area when not providing cover and help maintain quality standards in your region.
Requirements
- Musical experience is a requirement for this role.
- No teaching experience required.
- UK/EU Driving Licence and own transport is an essential requirement for the role.
- Competent on at least two of the following instruments: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals.
- Energised by travel and able to stay away from home as required.
- Consistently and positively represent the brand in schools.
- Consistently organised with excellent administrative skills.
- Highly personable, approachable and friendly.
- Confident and concise communication style.

Salary/Compensations
- £33,000 - £38,000 / year
- £33,000 pa is effective from 1st October 2026. If you start before this date, the starting salary will be at the current rate of £32,000 pa, until 1st October 2026, when the pay increase takes effect.
