About the Role

The Head of Accounting is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the financial and accounting functions of the Deutsche Investment Group. A key focus is the adaptation and restructuring of the finance department following a change of ownership, moving from an owner-managed environment to the requirements of an ECB-regulated German bank. This includes implementing new/adapted regulatory standards, establishing an adequate internal control system, and harmonizing reporting, compliance, and governance structures.

Responsibilities

Professional leadership and development of the accounting and controlling team, as well as close collaboration with the finance team of the listed shareholder.
Responsibility for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB.
Ensuring proper financial accounting, including payment transactions, dunning, and compliance with legal and internal requirements.
Preparation of monthly reports, analyses, and evaluations for management and executive board.
Coordination and co-development of multi-year plans for the companies of the Deutsche Investment Group.
Optimization, standardization, and digitalization of financial processes, including further development of digital tools and automation solutions to increase efficiency, transparency, and audit security.
Liaison with auditors and tax advisors.

Requirements

Completed degree in business administration, ideally with a focus on finance/accounting, or a comparable qualification.
Many years of professional experience in financial accounting with closing expertise according to HGB, ideally in a leadership role.
Professional experience from working at an auditing and/or tax consulting firm is desirable.
Sound knowledge of accounting, tax law, and experience with ERP systems, DATEV, and MS Office.
Practical experience in property or real estate accounting would be an advantage.
Experience in the introduction or conversion of accounting systems is also desirable.
Structured, solution-oriented, and independent way of working with a high affinity for processes.
Recognized leadership personality with leadership competence, decisiveness, team orientation, and good communication skills.
