About the Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer works with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and high-quality product development, enhancing designs with feedback from various reviews and providing support throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves developing new electrical systems/circuits, researching system ideas, testing, simulating, and validating systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement technical solutions in two or more technical areas.
- Lead smaller projects and coordinate with other engineers, including reviewing their work.
- Review and interpret customer documentation, conduct research, analysis, and experiments with minimal direction.
- Create technical proposals (solution and timelines) based on requirements.
- Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems.
- Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.
- Create designs in line with Celestica's procedures, regulations, and customer standards.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
- Solve complex problems.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Recommend system modifications.
- Create schematics, bills of materials, diagrams, and drawings.
- Analyze and interpret data and information.
- Create reports and documentation.
- Provide support during the manufacturing process.
- Finalize designs and send prints to the production department.
Requirements
- Experience in high-density PCB design up to 28 layers.
- Familiarity with high-speed layout design requirements.
- Working knowledge of setting and complying with board and trace constraints.
- Strong knowledge of PCB & PCBA manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of industry and quality standards, IPC standards preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IT platforms and database design.
- Familiarity with EMC & EMI layout requirements.
- Able to summarize layout experience from customer requirements.
- Self-motivated, capable of completing assignments in a dynamic environment with aggressive schedules and complex design requirements.
- Duties are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
