About the Role

Sing Education is seeking reliable, confident, and inspirational teachers for small group and one-to-one keyboard and violin instruction. The role requires a minimum of Grade 6 level proficiency and a degree in music or a related field. Successful candidates will join a team of specialist music teachers providing transformative music education to children.

Responsibilities

Teach keyboard & violin (Grade 6 level minimum)
Conduct Music Club from 3:20pm - 4:20pm
Provide permanent placement in a Sing Education primary school
Teach 1-5 days per week
Communicate professionally and clearly to represent Sing Education within a school setting
Attend and engage with Sing Education team training and induction sessions
Undergo child protection screening, including an enhanced DBS check and references
Read and adhere to the Sing Education Child Protection Policy and other Safeguarding documents

Requirements

University graduate with a good degree in music or a related field
Strong singing voice and confidence to use it to support pupil learning
Excellent spoken and written English
Ability to lead small group (up to 5 people) and one-to-one lessons
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Basic keyboard skills if not first instrument
A degree of ICT literacy and ability to use online systems such as G Suite and other communication platforms
Classroom or one-to-one teaching experience
Experience of working with children or young people in a teaching or leadership capacity
Ability to lead and inspire a passion for music in pupils
A firm approach to discipline, and good management skills
The ability to work well as part of both Sing Education and in-school teams
The ability to maintain confidentiality as appropriate
A sense of humour
An ability to generate enthusiasm for music in the wider life of the school
A high level of personal organisation and good communication skills
A commitment to personal and company wider development
Must have (or be willing to apply for through us) an Enhanced DBS Disclosure
