About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist eager to build a genuine career in payroll. This role offers hands-on experience with end-to-end Australian payroll processing and exposure to international payroll as our function grows. You will report to the Payroll Manager and have significant opportunities for development within a supportive finance team using modern tools and AI.

Responsibilities

  • Process fortnightly Australian payroll end-to-end, including new starters, terminations, leave, overtime, allowances, and deductions.
  • Manage PAYG, superannuation (including upload), STP, and workers' compensation requirements.
  • Utilize two ADP instances for different entities and reconcile payroll data and journals.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, supporting month-end and audit processes.
  • Leverage AI tools for increased efficiency, adhering to privacy and security standards.
  • Collaborate with the global payroll team by working flexible morning hours on certain days.
  • Partner with People & Culture and Finance departments, and manage employee payroll queries with a service-oriented approach.
  • Gain exposure to payroll processes in other jurisdictions, such as Canada.
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements and potential system implementations.
  • Learn Australian payroll thoroughly and build expertise over time.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on payroll experience in ADP.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Curiosity about using AI tools.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly across borders.
  • Self-driven with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work proactively and autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Flexibility and a desire to advance a payroll career.
  • Willingness to learn and grow beyond Australian payroll into other jurisdictions.
