About the Role
In this hands-on fleet role, your work directly supports our firefighters, ensuring they have the reliable vehicles they need to protect the community. You'll travel to various sites, seeing firsthand the difference you make. The genuine appreciation from the community is truly rewarding.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, diagnose and repair all vehicles and ladder trucks in operation at FRNSW to meet the operational and safety standards required for emergency services.
- Work to improve and develop specialised systems and enhancements.
- Utilise FRNSW systems to monitor scheduled servicing and for the entry of data associated with specific repairs.
Requirements
- Relevant Mechanical or Auto Electrical or Body Work (Body Building, Panel Beating, Sheet Metal work or Boiler Maker) with Motor Vehicle Trade Persons Certificate.
- Hold or willingness to obtain a HR driving licence. Fire & Rescue NSW will fund this licence for the successful applicant, if needed.
- You will be required to work on a roster, which includes a mix of shift work, overtime, on-call and some interstate travel.
- You will be given the opportunity to expand your skills with relevant, industry-based training.

Salary/Compensations
- $1,632.10 per week (Level 1) to $1,958.50 per week (Level 4)
- Tool allowance
- Heavy vehicle inspectors allowance
- Fire Equipment Allowance of $94.97 per week (after one year)
