About the Role
As a Systems Architect within the Navigation Solutions team, you will design and realize an architectural update to our existing product range and expand our product ecosystem within a consistent architectural framework. You will own the architectural design from a high-level system-wide perspective down to a component level, directly impacting user interaction, product design and updates, and the realization of our vision.
Responsibilities
- Ensure architectural decisions align with the product roadmap vision.
- Define how products operate in isolation, with each other, and with third-party systems.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to understand customer, product, and system requirements.
- Design common, reusable hardware designs for portability across applications.
- Ensure supply chain resilience within designs while adhering to COGS and supply chain constraints.
- Align hardware designs with industry state-of-the-art and best practices.
- Ensure hardware designs are robust to supply chain shocks and scalable for growth.
- Design common, reusable software systems that align with the product vision.
- Ensure software architecture supports all required external communication interfaces.
- Ensure software development adheres to requirements under agreed development frameworks (e.g., NIST, AUSDEFCON).
- Deploy rapid design iterations to gather early feedback from internal stakeholders.
- Advocate for consistency and efficiency across all products, balancing delivery speed and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Mechanical or Computer Systems Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience as a design engineer working across multi-discipline design teams.
- Experience preferably within a deep tech, robotics, SaaS-hardware hybrid, or high-reliability manufacturing organization.
- Expertise in at least one engineering discipline with competency in others.
- Willingness to learn and update knowledge, staying current with industry best practices and trends.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain complex models to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Curious mindset with an intrinsic drive to learn complex technical frameworks quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with a bias for action and decisive problem-solving.
