About the Role

Lead a team of engineers and ICT professionals responsible for delivering and maintaining complex Defence training systems. This role combines people leadership with strong technical oversight, requiring hands-on ICT leadership and the ability to balance operational delivery with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ICT professionals supporting Defence training systems and services.
Provide technical leadership and guidance across systems administration, ICT infrastructure, and support services.
Ensure successful delivery of operational support, sustainment activities, and ongoing system improvements.
Work closely with engineering, project, and business leaders to develop technical solutions and support customer requirements.
Support bid and proposal activities by contributing technical expertise, solution development, and resource planning.
Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships to ensure delivery outcomes and service quality expectations are achieved.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, risk management activities, and operational excellence across the team.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience leading technical engineering, ICT, or systems administration teams.
Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure, system administration, and support environments.
Experience managing technical resources, contractors, and competing operational priorities.
Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience contributing to technical solution development, project delivery, or bid activities.
Strong communication, leadership, and team development capabilities.
Australian Citizenship.
Ability to work onsite across Homebush and HMAS Watson locations.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
