About the Role

Fleet Data Centers is seeking a Construction Security Manager to oversee the day-to-day security operations of active data center construction environments. This role ensures security programs are executed consistently, vendors meet standards, and security processes support safe and uninterrupted construction operations. The manager will partner with various internal teams and external vendors to protect critical infrastructure and ensure security standards are met.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day construction security operations, ensuring programs align with Fleet standards, contract requirements, and operational needs.
Manage all security vendors, holding them accountable for performance, professionalism, reporting, staffing, training, and compliance.
Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, post orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Partner with Construction, EHS, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to support evolving security needs.
Provide security oversight for higher-risk construction activities, including gate operations, material deliveries, and infrastructure protection.
Ensure construction personnel, contractors, vendors, and visitors adhere to security measures, access rules, and site expectations.
Respond to security incidents, alarms, protests, thefts, and trespass events, ensuring timely escalation, documentation, and investigation support.
Escalate security system and device issues to relevant parties for prompt troubleshooting and repair.
Conduct routine inspections and audits of physical security controls, procedures, and guard force performance.
Support access control, badging, visitor management, key control, patrols, incident reporting, and emergency response coordination.
Maintain accurate records, logs, incident reports, and operational metrics, providing regular updates to leadership.
Promote a strong construction security culture through visible leadership, clear communication, and training reinforcement.
Build trusted working relationships with project leadership, local law enforcement, and partner teams.
Support investigations into security concerns, policy violations, and operational issues.
Identify security risks, process breakdowns, and vulnerabilities, making recommendations for improvement.
Maintain a safe, secure, and well-controlled construction environment with strong access control and guard force execution.
Ensure construction security operations run reliably daily, including staffing, gate operations, and alarm response.
Build strong partnerships with construction leadership, EHS, Operations, vendors, and law enforcement.
Identify risks early and drive corrective actions, audits, investigations, and compliance with contractual security measures.
Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, and readiness.
Continually raise the bar in construction security standards to deliver best-in-class security services.

Requirements

Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in physical security, security operations, critical infrastructure protection, construction security, law enforcement, military, or related fields.
Minimum 3+ years of experience managing site-level security operations, construction security programs, vendor relationships, or guard force operations.
Experience working in mission-critical construction, industrial, logistics, manufacturing, utility, or data center environments.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing security procedures, post orders, access controls, and operational response processes for active worksites.
Experience responding to incidents, conducting investigations, and preparing clear written incident documentation.
Strong working knowledge of physical security operations, access control, visitor management, incident response, infrastructure protection, and construction site security practices.
Proven ability to manage third-party security vendors and drive accountability against service expectations.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
