About the Role
The Receiving Inspector will manage the complete receiving process for all rotables, tools, consumables, and expendables. This role involves maintaining and recording parts movements within the quarantine room and auditing after-hours receiving to ensure compliance with the Maintenance Control Manual.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate aircraft component certification and traceability documentation to ensure compliance with Transport Canada requirements and company procedures.
- Accurately record time for incoming parts and manage constraints within the maintenance tracking system.
- Ensure all part requirements from certification documents are created and tracked in the maintenance tracking system.
- Control "shelf life" items to ensure timely removal from inventory before expiration.
- Audit after-hours receiving performed by Aircraft Material Handlers for compliance and timely discrepancy correction.
- Place suspect material, components, or parts in quarantine to prevent the use of uncertified items on aircraft.
- Maintain a quarantine area to prevent the installation or use of uncertified material, parts, or components on Company aircraft.
- Follow up on snagged, quarantined, and RMA receivings in a timely and prioritized manner.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Repair and Overhaul, and Vendors regarding the certification of incoming items.
- Liaise with the Technical Records team to resolve discrepancies with on-wing and off-wing parts.
- Process all incoming AOG parts with the highest priority and notify Maintenance of their arrival.
- Process all RMAs according to priority.
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of component traceability, including P/N, S/N, batch/lot numbers, certification status, shelf life, life limits, and supporting maintenance documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation, record-keeping, computer, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), particularly CAR 571 and CAR 573, and Transport Canada requirements for aircraft components.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, bend, and kneel.
