About the Role
This role is key in optimizing sales, forecasting inventory needs, and identifying opportunities to maximize growth. The position involves leading and owning inventory management strategies to maximize sales, margin, and inventory targets.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own inventory management strategies, including allocation, replenishment, consolidation, store capacity, and product life cycle management.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvement opportunities to deliver efficiencies.
- Make critical decisions that directly impact commercial performance.
- Collaborate and share insights with the inventory management and commercial teams.
- Provide data-driven recommendations and analytics to optimize multi-channel inventory.
- Maximize channel sales at the SKU level.
- Manage system settings for markdown and promotion.
- Analyze sales and product performance at store and cluster levels.
- Provide support and input to the build.
- Own and drive pre-season merchandise financial plans, open to buy, flow planning, and in-season forecast.
- Manage in-season activities including promotional/markdown activity.
- Run rolling forecasts with assumptions on sales split, markdown, and sell-thru.
- Create seasonal open-to-buy plans in a multi-time frame.
- Develop seasonal product flow plans in collaboration with Merchandising and Buying functions.
- Analyze store plans and provide feedback to the marketplace team.
- Identify weekly forecast/risk/opportunity with the marketplace team.
- Review sales trends and forecast ending inventory.
- Suggest risks and opportunities and drive actions to resolve them.
- Consistently monitor the business through analytics and identify actions to achieve key performance metrics.
Requirements
- Advance understanding of retail mathematics and Open to Buy.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret multiple data points across numerous channels and market segments.
- Good communication skills - interpersonal, written, and verbal.
- Entrepreneurship – an ability to make decisions and take calculated risks.
- Strong organization and planning skills; ability to deliver results to a process and timeline.
- Ability to turn data and analytics into information to inform and influence decision-making.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees – both senior and junior.
- Flexibility to change business process and way of working.
