About the Role

The Brand & Social Media Manager runs REBEL's day-to-day organic presence across social media. This role involves planning, creating, publishing, and iterating on content to grow the audience and engage users. The manager will work directly with the CEO and leadership to translate brand strategy into a content calendar and execute a consistent stream of posts, videos, and reactive content. This is a hands-on position with direct responsibility for all social media output.

Responsibilities

  • Run REBEL's social channels day-to-day—Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms
  • Build and manage the content calendar; plan, shoot, edit, write, and publish
  • Create reactive content against trends and cultural moments, fast
  • Maintain a consistent posting cadence without sacrificing quality or brand fit
  • Test and iterate on formats, hooks, and story angles; kill what isn't working
  • Own comments, DMs, and community engagement across platforms
  • Surface what the REBEL community is saying and feed it back to the team
  • Turn customers and fans into repeat commenters, sharers, and advocates
  • Source and reach out to creators; manage day-to-day communication and logistics
  • Brief creators so their content feels native and on-brand
  • Track creator content performance and flag standout partners
  • Track and report on organic reach, impressions, engagement, and follower growth
  • Bring a recommendation, not just a number—what the data says we should do next
  • Apply REBEL's voice and style guidelines consistently, and flag where they need updating as channels evolve
  • Support PR efforts with content, assets, and social amplification of coverage
  • Contribute content and coverage for co-marketing partnerships and IRL moments
  • Partner with growth, creative, and product on campaign support and launch content

Requirements

  • 4–6 years in social media, content, or brand marketing
  • E-commerce or marketplace experience is a huge plus
  • A portfolio of content you personally made
  • Demonstrated growth of a brand or creator account on at least one major platform
  • Comfortable with a phone camera and editing tools (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)
  • Experience reporting on social performance and adjusting based on it
  • Startup, challenger brand, or creator-economy experience strongly preferred
  • Strong writer with a distinctive voice and good instincts for a hook
  • Deep, current understanding of how content spreads on social platforms
  • Strong POV on what works—and what doesn't—on the internet today
  • Organized enough to keep a calendar moving while staying reactive
  • Comfortable operating without agencies, big teams, or safety nets
  • Builder mentality with a bias toward action
  • Genuinely enjoys creating, editing, posting, and iterating
  • Low ego, high standards, strong opinions, loosely held
  • Energized by speed, experimentation, and ownership
  • Wants to grow into leading brand and social at a company that's scaling
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • REBEL does not sponsor work permits, LMIAs, or LMIA-exempt employer-specific permits, now or in the future.
