About the Role
Home Instead offers top-notch non-medical care and companionship services for seniors, making us the leading provider worldwide. Our visits last at least an hour, and our award-winning training ensures Care Professionals deliver the best care. We match Care Professionals to clients based on mutual interests to build trust and provide personalized support.
Responsibilities
- Offer companionship and conversation.
- Stimulate and encourage through a variety of activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments and social events.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks.
- Organize and tidy cupboards, check food expiry dates, and assist with shopping.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food safety and ability to cook meals from raw ingredients.
- Assist with pet care.
- Help with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with continence care.
- Consider and understand the point of view of individuals with Dementia/Alzheimer's.
- Assist with morning and evening routines.
Requirements
- Ability to listen, communicate clearly, and build relationships with clients and their families in a friendly and pleasant manner.
- Respect for people with different backgrounds and beliefs, and who may have a range of medical conditions.
- Commitment to non-discriminatory care practice.
- Excellent timekeeping, organization, and reliability.
- Good hygiene practice, including personal hygiene and a smart appearance.
- Must obtain an Enhanced Disclosure from the relevant body.
- Must have Class 1 business insurance (if using own car for business purposes) or reliable transport.
- Must be a UK resident.
- Must have all Right to Work documents available.
- No sponsorship is available.
