About the Role

On Your Mark provides innovative, community-based services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, aiming to enhance their quality of life through person-centered programs that promote inclusion, independence, and self-empowerment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily oversight and supervision of assigned program areas and staff.
  • Design and implement curricula for individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities, aligning activities with participant goals and abilities.
  • Develop lesson plans, Day Habilitation Plans, and Staff Action Plans.
  • Prepare required billing documentation.
  • Represent the program at Life Plan meetings.
  • Manage correspondence related to assigned individuals.
  • Coordinate community-based instructional and recreational activities.
  • Foster volunteer opportunities.
  • Ensure professional communication with caregivers, Care Managers, and other professionals.
  • Support program initiatives including curriculum development, admissions, group placement, transfers, and staff development.
  • Provide personal care support, including toileting and mobility assistance.
  • Utilize SCIP-R techniques for behavioral intervention during crisis situations.
  • Report incidents or suspected incidents of abuse and/or neglect.
  • Ensure program compliance with OPWDD and New York State Justice Center regulations.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop program schedules and activities promoting participation in areas such as Fitness and Wellness, Independent Living, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Aquatics, Computer Literacy, Academics, Cooking, Horticulture, and Communication Skills.
  • Provide on-site leadership and supervision to Day Habilitation staff.
  • Oversee the implementation of all program activities and provide direct guidance on Staff Action Plan goals and valued outcomes.
  • Conduct regular team meetings for supervision, leadership, and direction.
  • Monitor staff performance and utilize staffing resources efficiently.
  • Support participants in achieving their fullest potential and maintaining positive behaviors.
  • Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Conduct assessments for new admissions and ongoing participant evaluations.
  • Review and submit billing documentation.
  • Document and report participant progress.
  • Provide input on program design and modification.
  • Assist with transportation and support arrival and departure routines.
  • Develop staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Attend all required trainings and certifications, including OPWDD in-service sessions, AMAP, CPR, First Aid, and SCIP-R.
  • Notify supervisors in advance of absences or lateness.
  • Maintain program supplies and ensure areas are clean, organized, and equipped.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Assist in supervising participants during meals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience in the developmental disabilities field.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, individual differences, and OPWDD regulations.
  • Ability to instruct and support program activities such as physical fitness, cooking, academics, crafts, horticulture, cognitive skill development, music therapy, and community integration.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong written communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to identify changes in participant behavior or condition, determine interventions, and act promptly.
  • Skill in identifying staff training needs and promoting professional development.
  • Self-directed, flexible, and motivated.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities independently.
  • Ability to adapt to changing participant needs.
  • SCIP-R techniques.
  • AMAP certification.
  • CPR.
  • First Aid.
