About the Role
Checkr's Brand Studio is seeking a Senior Designer to lead motion graphics and animation. This role combines design and animation mastery with a systems mindset to bring product stories and complex ideas to life through animation for campaigns, videos, and in-product experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead motion work from concept through final delivery, including storyboards, style frames, animatics, and finished assets.
- Apply expert timing, easing, and visual storytelling with a focus on detail and brand consistency.
- Build motion templates and reusable animation assets.
- Develop and enforce motion design guidelines across the organization.
- Work fluently in After Effects, Figma, and Adobe Creative Cloud, utilizing AI-assisted workflows.
- Partner with marketing, web development, and product design to shape motion across programs and channels.
- Present design rationale clearly to various stakeholders.
- Hold quality high across multiple projects and move with urgency.
- Take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.
Requirements
- 6+ years of in-house or agency experience with a dedicated focus on design and motion graphics/animation.
- A strong point of view, high craft standards, and the confidence to present and defend work.
- An outstanding reel or portfolio showing mastery of motion craft, timing, storytelling, and design direction.
- Comfort in fast-moving environments where the brief may require refinement.
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action, resilience through ambiguity, and ownership of outcomes.
