About the Role
The Family Specialist is responsible for coordinating therapeutic activities for youth and families, enabling them to live safely, productively, and independently within their home community.
Responsibilities
- Maintains positive partnership with referring agency, coordinating required services and maintaining timely communication regarding case activities.
- Provides crisis intervention services for youth experiencing acute distress and dysfunctional behaviors to address safety concerns.
- Offers supportive casework counseling to youth and families, including assessments, treatment, and discharge plans.
- Coordinates psycho-educational groups as needed.
- Schedules and ensures youth’s home visits are goal-oriented and work toward building trust, communication, and healthy relationships.
- Facilitates comprehensive treatment reviews according to agency and state regulations.
- Completes all state-mandated and agency documentation according to policy and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including night and weekend hours as necessary.
- Must have a current and valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
- Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse populations.
Skills
- Ability to handle crisis intervention in a solution-focused manner.
- Communication skills including written, verbal, and listening skills.

- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
- MSW preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- $23.08 - $25.24 Hourly
Benefits
- Paid Orientation & Training: 2-3 weeks of mandatory, fully paid training (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
