About the Role
Upstate Niagara Cooperative is seeking a Skilled Production Worker for their Batavia Plant. This role supports sustainable farming and community values by processing and marketing high-quality dairy products.
Responsibilities
- Support production operators and staff in various production-related tasks.
- Work within the parameters of established production standards, meeting processing rates.
- Maintain the quality of finished products per specifications.
- Comply with Federal and State regulatory requirements in a food manufacturing environment.
- Advance from entry-level to skilled positions.
- Maintain compliance with SQF requirements.
- Be available to work any shift, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Prior Material Handling experience is required.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb, use hands, talk, hear, taste, and smell.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 55 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work with high-speed equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or with fall protection occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus.
- Company provided safety glasses or A.N.S.I approved prescription safety glasses are required.
- Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and risk of electric shock.
- Must wear Company approved non-skid, steel-toed shoes.
- Frequently exposed to vibration.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and heat, including steam.
- Hearing protection is required due to loud noise levels.
