About the Role
R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Trailer Mechanics at our Maybrook, NY Service Center. As a Trailer Mechanic, your responsibilities will include the diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of our trailers.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic process, repair work, and overall maintenance of trailers.
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare required safety documents.
- Interpret technical manuals.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
- Test equipment for proper performance and to ensure work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations.
- Perform trailer PMs and repairs.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must own your own tools.
- Must be dependable.
- Must be prepared to work in climate situations when needed.
Skills
- Welding
- Sheet metal and composite panel repair
- Experience using Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System
- Experience driving yard tractor/trailers
- Previous experience working on Class 8 commercial vehicles
