About the Role
Smile New York Outreach is seeking a Dental Assistant Team Leader to provide dental care to underserved children at their school. This innovative program offers a work-life balance with no nights or weekends, perfect for those seeking a diverse working environment or wanting to make a difference.
Responsibilities
- Provide dental assisting services during mobile dental clinics.
- Perform digital x-ray imaging.
- Chart patient records.
- Assist with equipment set-up, breakdown, and sterilization.
- Travel daily to and from school sites.
Requirements
- Dental Assistant Certification (preferred, but not required).
- Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to schools within the boroughs.
- CPR certification card.
- Working experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Working experience with Digital X-rays.
- Experience with patient charting (paper forms, charting tooth surfaces).
- Ability to work well with children.
- Must be a team player and able to work on a small team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
