About the Role
As an Intermediate Software Developer, Mid-Market at 7shifts, you'll be a founding engineer on the mid-market squad, building foundational systems for complex restaurant groups. You will own features end-to-end, making pragmatic technical decisions and utilizing AI tools effectively. This greenfield role offers the chance to shape systems used by over 1.5 million restaurant workers.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data structures and pipelines for rollup reporting for multi-location restaurant groups.
- Contribute to the development of a new permissions and authorization system.
- Use AI-assisted development tools as an active part of your workflow.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product counterparts, and the data team to translate requirements into solutions.
- Take ownership of production issues, leading investigation and resolution of bugs.
- Contribute to engineering culture by participating in technical discussions and improving team processes.
- Drive work from concept to completion, making sound technical decisions and delivering user value.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional experience building, deploying, and maintaining web applications and services in a team environment.
- Comfort working in a greenfield codebase.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and backend development.
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality code with a strong sense of ownership.
- Clear communication skills, especially when facing ambiguity.
- Proactive work ethic with the ability to manage priorities and make technical trade-offs.
- Experience leveraging AI development tools.
- A customer-focused mindset and genuine interest in building problem-solving products.
