About the Role
The Residential Aide coordinates and ensures the overall safety and security of the facility, monitoring client conduct and behavior during their tour of duty.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety and security of all clients, visitors, staff, and property.
- Maintains visibility to residents by wearing Safety Monitor vest and ID badge and inspects site through regular tours of the property.
- Screens all clients and visitors to the facility.
- Enforces and educates clients on CHI, site and DSS policies, regulations, and rules.
- Reviews video cameras and monitors area consistently.
- Provides limited crisis intervention and de-escalation to residents until professional staff can intervene.
- Contacts supervisor and/or the proper authorities as needed.
- Maintains appropriate documentation accurately throughout shift, including turn-over, census, logs, incident reports, and case notes.
- Conducts inspections in accordance with OTDA/DSS standards by physically entering each unit to ensure proper attendance is recorded.
- Accepts resident referrals and reviews rules and regulations with new arrivals.
- Submits all internal and external reports in a timely and correct manner.
- Maintains logs, office, and site in an orderly fashion.
- Informs Building Superintendent of work site’s physical condition.
- Preps vacant units for new placements.
- Maintains proper usage of cleaning supplies and inventory.
- Facilitates and documents evacuation procedures.
- Performs administrative and reception duties at front desk when needed.
- Acts as a liaison between the agency and the community at large.
- Other duties may be assigned by management as needed.
Requirements
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, nights and/or weekends and overtime if necessary.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs (up to 3-4 flights).
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English required.
- Multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency prioritized.
- Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls, and perform proper notifications.

Experience Level
- 1-2 years of experience working in related field preferred.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Food Handler’s Certification
- F-02 certification
Salary/Compensations
- $21.64 - $346.24 Hourly
- approx. $45,000 annually.
