About the Role
Develop control algorithms and embedded control software for in-house reaction wheels, translating product-level performance targets into robust control solutions for space operation.
Responsibilities
- Take part in system design by working closely with other reaction wheel team members.
- Compare, select, and implement control strategies and a state machine for reaction wheels on component level.
- Create a plant model for simulation and use it to tune parameters to meet control performance targets.
- Perform software development/implementation via autocode generation or embedded C programming.
- Own the entire FDIR process and control software testing, and evaluate control robustness.
- Develop algorithms for other components such as star trackers or magnetorquers.
- Collaborate closely with AOCS and Flight Software teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of control systems, mechanical dynamics, and field oriented control.
- Hands-on experience with reaction wheels, electric motors, or similar actuators.
- Proven expertise in AOCS development.
- Experience with simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink.
- Experience with Code generation in Matlab or embedded C.
