About the Role
As a Software Engineer (Data), you will build and run the pipelines, orchestration, and infrastructure that move data across Ben, serving global enterprise customers with strict security and reliability requirements. You will own real work from day one, with a strong team supporting you, room to grow, and the freedom to do the job your way.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain ingestion pipelines for data warehouse, using Fivetran and custom solutions.
- Own orchestration to ensure data flows on schedule and recovers from failures.
- Build and manage data infrastructure as code using Terraform and AWS services.
- Develop enterprise-grade pipelines and connectors for customers, handling data from HR and payroll systems.
- Build the data layer for AI agents and services, including MCP connectors.
- Collaborate with product and stakeholders to scope problems and design solutions.
- Build to current security practices, including OWASP Top 10 and AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python and SQL.
- Several years of experience building and running production data pipelines.
- Comfortable with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, Glue, S3, RDS).
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT and orchestration.
- Experience building or running data integrations and connectors, especially customer-facing ones.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals: clean code, sensible design, and reliable tests.
- Security-conscious development and infrastructure configuration, understanding enterprise customer data expectations.
