About the Role
Block by Block is seeking proactive, community-driven individuals to join our team as Cleaning Ambassadors. This role offers a unique opportunity to improve public spaces, making them friendlier, safer, and cleaner. If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and making a tangible difference in your community, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Keeping sidewalks and streetscapes clean and litter-free
- Removing graffiti and stickers
- Making spaces bright through power washing
- Being a visible presence and having friendly interactions with the public
- Using a smartphone app to report activities and maintenance needs
Requirements
- 1+ year of janitorial/custodial/outdoor maintenance experience
- Time management skills
- Safe use of chemicals and supplies
- Ability to utilize a 2-way radio
- Ability to lift 40lbs
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with breaks and lunch
- Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language for basic reports
