About the Role

The role focuses on technical leadership and responsibility for all engineering tasks within a cluster in the AMZL network of the MEU region (NL, DE, AT). You will lead technical teams, foster a strong safety culture, ensure high equipment availability, and collaborate with the European Engineering team to drive future growth. You will also implement network-wide improvement initiatives and new standards.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for maintenance teams and all sorting and conveying systems, industrial trucks, and building technology.
Ensuring the highest possible availability of all systems and implementing modern maintenance approaches like Condition Based Maintenance (CBM).
Ensuring cross-shift troubleshooting of all technical systems.
Implementing all necessary safety standards and a proactive safety culture within the team.
Promoting the continuous development of all team members in hard and soft skills to support Amazon Operations growth.
Developing concepts for the continuous optimization of all systems according to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Contributing to strategic decisions.
Leading and supporting technical greenfield and brownfield projects.
Planning and adhering to the maintenance and upkeep budget for the cluster.
Analyzing relevant KPIs to assess technical systems and internal processes.
Strategic leadership and management of service providers at locations without own RME personnel, ensuring quality, performance, and cost-efficiency through effective management of maintenance partners.

Requirements

Engineering or technical degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar fields.
Leadership experience with maintenance teams.
Multiskilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably with automated systems such as packaging machines, sorting, and conveying systems.
Knowledge of modern maintenance concepts (CBM, TPM).
Teamwork skills and good presentation abilities for complex technical maintenance issues.
Team motivation and engagement: Create a positive work atmosphere with your leadership experience, foster team cohesion, and develop strategies to increase employee satisfaction.
Good analytical skills and a structured, independent way of working.
Fluent German and very good English language skills.
Experience in (technical) project management.
Knowledge of maintenance and building technology systems in a logistics center and their maintenance and safety procedures.
Experience with PLC-based control systems.
